After your registration is complete (including full payment), you will receive an email confirmation providing a link and a code to access the online class. This will come to the student’s email address to allow them to utilize the online instruction using their phone if they wish.
The student will have three months from the class start date to successfully complete the classroom instruction and six months from the start of class to complete the hands-on-the wheel hours.
According to the new law students will be required to complete 30 hours of classroom instruction. This instruction will be conducted online. Content is interactive with flashcards, matching, interactive quizzes with matching, multiple choice, and true/false. Students are required to complete the quizzes at the end of each module with a score of 70% or higher but given unlimited attempts. The highest score will be recorded.
The written content presented in the classroom instruction portion of the course is the intellectual property of Driving Ms. Amy, LLC and is protected by copyright. Unauthorized reproduction, downloading, distribution, or sharing of any instructional materials is strictly prohibited.
A student must have a Mississippi DMV issued Learner’s Permit to complete any behind-the-wheel training with Driving Ms. Amy, LLC.
Driver Education and Training Program Agreement/waiver signed by Parent/Guardian
Driving Ms. Amy, LLC requires that students have their permit for 30 days or complete a minimum of 10 or more hours of driving time before hands-on-the-wheel training. This will maximize the level of instruction given during the six hours of driving instruction.
For the scheduled driving portion of the course teacher, student, and/or parent will have a designated meeting spot such as a local establishment. The lesson will last for a maximum of two hours in one 24-hour period—times, dates, and meeting arrangements will be coordinated prior to appointments. Car will be equipped with a dash camera on the front and back as well as a camera inside the vehicle for the student and teacher’s protection.
Mississippi recommends applicants under 18 to log 50 hours of supervised driving (with at least 10 hours at night) before applying for a full license.
Driving Ms. Amy, LLC will require that cell phones be silenced during hands-on-the-wheel instruction. Please make arrangements for pickup prior to the lesson starting. No cell phone use will be allowed during the lesson.
The Hands-on-the -Wheel class will begin at the time of the appointment. Students are expected to be ready to start at the time of the class. Since students will be scheduled back-to-back it is imperative that everyone be respectful of other’s time.
This course conforms to the rules and regulations of the Mississippi DMV and exceeds the criteria established for discounts insurance. Mississippi DMV regulations require that, “Students must attend all course sessions and pass all examinations”; therefore, any missed portion(s) of the class, for any reason, must be made up for successful course completion. It is vital that students attend all classes because rescheduling may not be immediately available and will delay course completion for an undetermined amount of time. Cancellations must be handled 24 hours or more before the appointment or a $50 RESCHEDULING FEE WILL BE ASSESSED.
Each student is provided with six hours of behind-the-wheel driving. Additional driving time with an instructor may be purchased for $50 per hour.
Driving Ms. Amy LLC reserves the right to cancel class due to low enrollment, inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, registrants will be given the option to choose a different class (dependent upon availability).
Proper shoes must be worn for driving. Shoes with platforms, high heels, or shoes that are not secure/strapped on the feet could result in not being able to conduct a lesson. Safety is imperative for new drivers.
Driving Ms. Amy LLC instructors do not have specialized training to assist people with vehicle adaptation needs such as pedal extensions or hand controls, etc. If a student requires accommodations due to an ADA recognized disability please consult the owners prior to registering. If students have any condition or take any medication which affects their ability to operate a motor vehicle, please report that prior to registering. A physician's medical clearance may be required to participate in this class. The Mississippi Department of Public Safety is a resource to put parents in contact with people equipped to teach individuals with accommodations.
Grading is performance based.
